VisionIntoArt (VIA) is a non-profit new music and interdisciplinary production company whose work is presented worldwide. Composer Paola Prestini co-founded VIA in 1999, when she was a student at Juilliard, and continues to lead the company today.
By supporting new works that brim with artistic and intellectual virtuosity, VIA gives voice to the foremost emerging and established composers and their collaborators. To date, the company has commissioned, developed, and/or produced more than 70 projects by composers including Terry Riley, John Luther Adams, Daniel Wohl, Anna Clyne, David T. Little and Paola Prestini, among others.
Recent and upcoming highlights including VIA’s inaugural Ferus Festival at the Stone in NYC; a presentation of John Zorn’s The Holy Visions, at the Abrons Arts Center in November 2013; co-commissioning and co-producing, with Beth Morrison Projects, 21c Liederabend in the 2013 BAM Next Wave Festival; a workshop of the VIA / New Amsterdam Records co-production The Colorado, in March at Mass MoCA, featuring Roomful of Teeth, Glenn Kotche and Jeffrey Zeigler, compositions commissioned by VIA from by John Luther Adams, Terry Riley, William Brittelle, Shara Worden, and Prestini, film by Murat Eyuboglu and text by conservationist William deBuys; and Labyrinth Installation Concertos, composed by Prestini, co-produced with Beth Morrison Projects, and performed by Cornelius Dufallo and Maya Beiser at the Krannert Center in February 2014.
VIA is an Opera America Professional Member and a participant in the BAM Professional Development Program (BAM PDP), led by BAM and the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the Kennedy Center.
