Established in 1957, The Dublin Theatre Festival is an annual event that brings together artists, theater-makers and audiences from around the world over 18 days, from the last Thursday in September. At the heart of the festival is the city of Dublin – its stories, inhabitants and visitors – and a commitment to contributing to the vibrant social and cultural life of Ireland’s capital.
The Festival present work in venues and locations across the city. The programming incorporates theater, music, dance and family events and includes artist talks, public discussions and artist development programmes. The Festival seeks to provide a platform for world-class performance by celebrated companies and artists, presenting classic drama alongside work by exciting, emerging theater-makers from Ireland and abroad.
